After publishing his first book of poems at the age of twenty, in 1956, Leonard Cohen has continued since then to reach the success in everything that has made during his long career as a singer and songwriter, poet, musician, novelist and poet. Although it is known from the beginning of his talent as a writer - the publication of four books of poetry and two novels before recording his first album in 1967 - exceeded Cohen expectations in the music world and eclipsed his own literary work with its award-winning musical talent.
Cohen received a series of awards and honors in recent years, many of which are beyond their musical talent and writing, like becoming ordained Rinzai Zen Buddhist monk, Companion in the Order of Canada, and there was a Grand Officier of the Ordre national du Quebec. He also won several Juno Awards, one for "singer year and songwriter of the year and was admitted to Canadian composers, both Hall of Fame and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
